We are lucky to have a large number of Challenge Cups and Trophies, which have been donated to us over the years. In theory, all trophies are presented at the show each year and are returned to us by 20th May the following year.
Challenge cups and trophies are advertised in the schedule in good faith. However, they can only be presented in the ring if they have been returned (undamaged) by the previous holder. It is a sad fact that in general people are very lax about returning trophies.
If you have a trophy that you think may belong to Iver Horse Show but you aren't sure, please do email the secretary and ask!
I should like to remind the 2006 trophy winners that they did sign an undertaking to return them by 20th May 2007. As at 12th August only 6, yes SIX trophies have been returned. I appreciate that we cancelled the show this year, but we still need the trophies back so that we can get them cleaned, repaired if necessary, labelled and sorted out for the next show.
Unfortunately there are still several trophies outstanding from the 2005 show and a few from earlier shows. We would like these returned also.
Trophies should be returned to:
Iver Horse Show
35 Thorney Lane South
Iver
Buckinghamshire
SL0 9AD
If you will be delivering the trophy personally, please contact the secretary first to arrange a mutually convenient time. You should have the phone number on the instructions that accompanied the trophy, but if not then please email.
If sending by post or courier, please ensure it is securely wrapped and packed. For a cup with a stem, please put extra packaging around the stem as these often get bent whilst in transit. We recommend sending by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which tracks the package along its journey and insures the item to its full value. If using a different courier, please make sure it will be fully covered against loss.
Engraving of winners' names on trophies is the responsibility of the winner. Trophies returned to us without engraving, and those which were not taken home by the winner, will not be engraved. However, if you would like to have a trophy engraved but are unable to do so, we can arrange to get this done for you - please contact the secretary.
I'm sorry, I've read this page over and over again, reworded it several times, and taken bits out, but I still can't convey what I want to say. I don't want to offend anybody, I truly don't, but these trophies are the bane of my life!!
